Hawaiian Sweet Corn

Friday morning I helped plant some Hawaiian sweet corn in Pereira, Colombia. Unfortunately I didnt have my camera with me. It is an open pollinated variety developed by the University of Hawaii. They dont have American style sweet corn here. Corn is very light sensative. Tropical corn grows with daylight of twelve hours. Tropical corn grown in the north grows almost 13 feet tall and it messes up the coordination of tassels and silks. And Northern regular sweet corn grown in the tropics, does who knows what and doesnt have the insect resistance they need in the tropics.
