World class Lettuce

Without any insects, wind and with perfect temperature and humidity, you can grow pretty good lettuce. One day inside the tunnels it was raining off the top continuously. the lettuce was planted September 15th.

Hoop Tunnels

I thought I would experiment with plastic hoop tunnels to extend the growing season. Saturday it was in the 40's but maybe 70degrees  inside the tunnels. The plants are still growing. the hoops are made of 3/8 inch pvc pipe stuck inside of 1/2 inch pipe cut in short sections.  Then I weighted the plastic with rock and bricks..
